Flour Sack Animation

This project sure was... interesting from the warm-up gesture drawings to the final animation. Since I'm poor at figure drawing this was a bit more of a struggle for me compared to other students. Nonetheless, I completed the assignment.

Now quick story behind my first draft. I was actually sick on a work day in class, so after addressing the syllabus, I thought the animation was due the next class. I stayed up the entire night to finish it, but part way through the process, I had dropped my tablet pen. In my panic, I was unable to find it despite crawling all around the floor to find it. I also was too nervous of turning on the lights in fear of waking my friend, so I had to use my computer mouse for most of it.

I can't tell you how much I wanted to end myself when the professor walked in and said it was a work day. I could have slept :")))))

However, she was really understanding and gave a mini one-on-one critique to improve my animation by Tuesday. This is the first draft.

I added more overlapping on the top nubs of the flour sack to make it less choppy. I also made adjustments to control the volume of the flour sack, which is something I had great trouble with the first time around. Here is the second draft presented to the class.

Now for my final draft, there were only minuscule things to fix. The main one being the feet. I had anchored them on a separate layer only after deleting, copying and pasting them into each frame (trust in me to always do it the hard way part way through.) I also tried fixing the feet when the flour sack falls over in the end. I had difficulty visualizing this as I was unsure of how the perspective would look. I took the professors into consideration with pushing the anchored foot forward and having the other fly into the air. Lastly, I extended the time of the flour sack resting after its fall backwards. Here is the final animation.
